From Egg To Harvest

A Scottish Sea Farms' salmon typically takes up to 28 months from egg to harvest.

What they eat, how they live, their activity, their well-being and their contentment are our focus.


In autumn, the parent salmon are selected from the broodstock cages.  Between November and December, eggs from the female or 'hen' fish are fertilised with milt from the male or 'cock' fish. The fertilised eggs are then incubated in egg trays in freshwater hatcheries.
