Ever thought of relocating to Orkney, recently voted the best place to live in the UK according to the Halifax Quality of Life Survey? We could have the perfect incentive for you to do exactly that.

We're recruiting for a Farm Manager to head-up our new £3.3m salmon farm at Lober Rock, Scapa Flow, which will go live later this year stocked with 12 x 80m pens.

About you
We'd love to hear from you if you are:

  • An experienced pair of senior husbandry hands ambitious to take the next step up to Farm Manager
  • A Trainee Farm Manager ready for your own farm
  • A time-served Farm Manager interested in applying your skills and know-how to a new area or region.

You could live and work on Orkney already, or you could be joining our team from further afield; a relocation package is on offer for the right candidate.

About the role
First and foremost, you should be able to demonstrate excellence in all aspects of fish husbandry including fish health and welfare, feeding
optimisation, containment, infrastructure maintenance and skilled seamanship.

Open, honest and able to communicate with ease at all levels, your ability to plan ahead will be matched by your attention to detail. You'll also have the utmost respect for the importance of health and safety practices and procedures.

Ideally, you'll bring experience of finance, budget control and planning, stock management, stakeholder interactions and personnel management. However, full training in all these areas will be provided for the successful candidate.

The package
The role comes with a competitive salary, company vehicle, pension support, life cover, occupational health scheme and production bonus, along with the offer of subsidised gym membership and a cycle to work scheme. As stated earlier, a relocation package will also be available if required.
