What is HCT?

First launched in 2011, our Heart of the Community initiative provides financial support to local groups, organisations and projects based in our core farming regions:

  • Mainland Scotland
    - Argyll and Bute
    - Highlands and Islands
  • Northern Isles
    - Orkney
    - Shetland

Fast forward to today and Heart of the Community has now awarded in excess of £1.3M in grant support to over 330 good causes in the remote and rural communities in which we work and live - and we're always open to new applications.

Goal

The broad aim of the Heart of the Community Grant Trust is to provide financial grants for community projects that deliver lasting change within the regions in which Scottish Sea Farms operates:

  • Mainland Scotland
    - Argyll and Bute
    - Highlands and Islands
  • Northern Isles
    - Orkney
    - Shetland

Awards can range from a few hundred pounds to as much as £10,000, and can be one-off payments for a particular project or repeat support over several years.

Application Criteria

The principal aim for grant allocation will be to provide lasting change using the following criteria:

  • Health & Health Promotion
  • Education
  • Personal Development that leads to the enhancement of a community
  • Community Projects that benefit the majority

How and when to apply
