SSF SCOOP MAIN PRIZES AT THE CROWN ESTATE SCOTTISH SALMON FARM AWARDS

Scottish Sea Farms scooped the main prizes at the inaugural Crown Estate's Scottish Salmon Farms awards dinner on Thursday 1st June 2006.  Our Company was the only farmer to be finalists in all five competition categories and outright winners of the 2 most prestigious prizes - “Salmon Farming Company Of The Year” and “Best kept Farm”. These awards recognise and reward the contribution of all within SSF and it was with great pleasure that the management team with support from Rab MacDonald and Diarmid MacMillan (Creran Marine Farm) accepted these awards on behalf of us all at SSF.

In winning the award of Scotland's most professional marine site Loch Creran clearly demonstrates our leading standards throughout the industry.  Creran represented much of the design, environmental awareness and operational excellence that exists throughout all our marine sites both in Scotland and Shetland.  It will be a great challenge to develop that standard still further in the year ahead. 

Scottish Sea Farm's also took second place in each of the other three categories:  Best Community initiative, Best Entrepreneurial Initiative and Best Environmental contribution. All of the staff who were directly involved in these awards deserve our sincere appreciation - with a special thank-you to the team at Loch Creran.
