Scottish Sea Farms ‘Heart of the Community’ Trust

Scottish Sea Farms operates within some of the most beautiful yet remote regions of Scotland and is frequently the major employer within those areas. Most employees live in the locality of our operations; with many having been brought up, settled and working within their local communities. We recognise that success not only depends upon our business competence and investment, but also support from within local communities which allows us to grow and develop.

The broad aim of the ‘Heart of the Community’ Trust is to provide financial grants for community projects that deliver lasting change within the regions in which the Company operates. Those regions being: Shetland, Orkney, Highland, Argyll and Dumfries

- Personal development that leads to enhancement of the community
- Community projects that benefit the majority

Applications for support are encouraged all year round and will be reviewed quarterly.  Next submission deadline will be 31st March 2014.

Factors for consideration will include:

- An identified and supported need within the community
- Range of benefits derived from the project
- The number of people within the community who will benefit from the project
- Suitability of the persons receiving the grant
- Availability of additional funding streams but where Scottish Sea Farms remain a major contributor
