Scottish Sea Farms supports Scalloways own “Stars in their eye’s”
SCALLOWAY School is to benefit from more than £2,000 following a "Stars in their Eyes" fundraising event in the local hall, on Saturday.
The sold out event raised just over £1,000 and Scottish Sea Farms has promised to match the amount raised.
The majority of the money will go towards buying a wooden playhouse for the outdoor area at the school's nursery.
Head teacher Joyce Gear said: "What we intend to do is to get the playhouse made locally. We are more than delighted that this money has been given to us.
"Not all the money will go towards the playhouse. We will therefore draw up a list of equipment or projects that would be advantageous to school and let Scottish Sea Farms select what they would like to support. They are very keen to help the school and to build links with the community."
